She will have the freedom of not having to listen to your voice or feel your anger when she has strayed. (In other words: freedom enough to suffice.) Those who spoke before were given only one chance to succeed. I have been given two. I will not waste this second chance.

(Her gaze lands on Kagura and she smiles almost...serenely.)

Like her, I have no desire for you to touch me. Half Demons should know their place. (With that, she brings out a golden sword.)

The only freedom she has is how long of a leash I decide that she requires. [ He takes a step forward, a strange movement beneath his robes being clearly visible, like snakes moving along his skin; ripples in the pelt. His body was already changing shape. ]

Truly you don't. [ He mocks. ] For you know what would happen if I did. You would be assimilated into me, like so many other yokai who believed their blood would save them. You would spend eternity drowning in a sea of similar Yokai of varying power, until the day came in which I deemed you no longer necessary, in which a piece of any size of you would be expelled. If you were lucky, you might resemble Kagura. If not...

[ Well, she could look like Kageromeru. ]

The look in your eyes tells me my own place. What is it like, fearing a Hanyou?

[Kagura considers leaving. Here, she was simply going to be used as a pawn....but if she was up higher, she could observe this, wait for the storm to pass. There would be a fight--she knew that, and her freedom depended on whether or not Kaguya won. She could not fight for her own freedom, that much she knew. She made eye contact with Kaguya, appraising her silently, before pulling a plume out of her hair. She flew into the night sky, staying high above the soon-to-be battlefield.]

Hm. (Kaguya sounds amused by Kagura's actions.) She doesn't rush to protect you. Your servant may serve her uses, but she will not hesitate to bite your hand if the opportunity presented itself.

(She brings the sword in front of her, her expression hardening. She sees the transformations his body is undergoing and she doesn't like it one bit. It wouldn't take much for him to absorb her.

She must be quick.)

I will not be yours. (Her eyes narrow arrogantly.) I belong to no one! (She lashes out at a piece of his body, slicing into it with her sword.) I fear no one!

She serves her purpose merely by existing.

[ The moment he sees her coming, he smiles. Oddly enough, he doesn't even attempt to dodge; his movement is way slower than anyone knows he is capable of, and his entire arm is lopped off, falling limply to the ground. ]

You are already mine, my dearest princess.

[ There is no blood coming from his arm; only small bits of flesh from the impact, which seems to granulate in the air. Naraku, missing his arm and showing not even the slightest trace of pain in his face, widens his smile. Suddenly, a thick, purple mist begins pouring out of his body, and out of the severed part of the arm. ]

Overconfidence has claimed so many before you. [ The miasma swirls, forming a toxic smokescreen, obscuring visibility. Something grabs her leg; before the cloud thickens, she would see that it was the same arm she hacked off. ]

[Kagura's eyes widen in fear. Of course this would occur, though she had no desire to see it. She felt plastered to her spot, out of fear. She was forced up, though, by the miasma, covering her mouth with her sleeve.

Goodbye, Kaguya. She feels bad for you.]

The hell! (It isn't often a lady like Kaguya curses, but this definitely merits it. Turning her face away from the Miasma, she begins to mutter a spell that will, in theory, transport her back to her castle. She isn't above running. Yet she finds that she can't move.

Glancing down sharply, she sees his arm - his wretched arm! - clinging to her leg.)

Don't touch me! (She slashes at the appendage, prepared to cut it into as many pieces as it took for it to let her go.)

You fight like a coward! Choking me and holding me down!

Can you feel it, Kaguya?

[ His voice doesn't come from any specific direction; it's being projected directly into her mind. ]

My thoughts become your thoughts. My consciousness, yours.

[ He knows what she's afraid of. It was why she wanted him dead before she tried anything on her own. Him absorbing her was one of the few things she had no real defense against, and as such, she saw him as her biggest threat. The more she cut at his arm, the tighter the grip of his hand became. Suddenly, the destroyed parts of his arm began changing, sprouting small, spider-like legs. Naraku's near-limitless shapeshifting abilities in action. They began crawling towards Kaguya, trying to climb up her legs. ]

How does it feel to know you will be devoured by a mere hanyou, Kaguya?

(Of course she can feel it! She jerks her head and sets her eyes on...

Kagura. She is floating in the sky, far above the Miasma. If she can somehow reach her...)

Never. (She hisses, bringing out another golden sword. Using her full force, she knocks back the pieces of his flesh. His hand might still be wrapped around her ankle, but it's not attached to anything. With a great leap, she launches herself into the sky until she is side by side with Kagura.)

Send his Miasma away, Kagura. Do it for yourself!

[She's thinking again about leaving the two when she sees Kaguya next to her, eyes widening. She's asking for action...does she not understand what will happen to her if she even attempts to do something? There is always punishment waiting for her. Yet...if Kaguya was strong enough to fight him off, kill him even.....

She flicked open her fan, sending some of the miasma away. She hoped she would have no reason to regret this later.]

[ In a way, seeing Kagura grow braver was interesting. The miasma began blowing away, only to be replaced by the sight of several barbed tendrils shooting out of where Naraku's arm used to be; apparently, the part she hacked off had reattached itself to his body, only to be shapeshifted again. ]

Fleeing already, Kaguya?

[ The tendrils began converging on Kaguya. They were noticably avoiding Kagura, though he knew Kaguya wouldn't go down this easily. ]
