[Burying her face back in his hoodie because she's being earnest and-- oh jesus no, oh god--]

[~~KILL HER NOW~~]

[There's a soft, yet sharp intake of breath at her question, and he doesn't say a word at first. After a moment or two of silence, and much more red coming to his face, he finally mumbles back.] If you want, I'm... okay with it.

[There's a long pause before she lets out a long breath of air. Okay, she-- ]

[--needs to giggle. a bit out of relief first. Because just now the elation is hitting her (That was almost like climbing up the Crone's Tooth, with the amount of adrenalin coursing through her body). She tries to muffle it before resting a hand to Jack's cheek.

She's not laughing at you. She swears. Oh god--]

[Then she'll look up at him, this big goofy grin on her face. One he probably never sees that often. Not cocky or scheming. Just happy.]

Okay. [She tries to bite back her smile a bit.]

Then --erm--

[She really really does want this to be better, for him because. God she sucked that first time. That was an awful way to get kissed, especially for the first time.

But she doesn't... really want to be insanely bossy. But she's new to this to. Kissing and just. physical affection beyond the basics. She's not sure what those nonverbal cues are or how to give them]

Try t'relax. [She knows that's easier said then done.]

[A joke.. not really meant as a threat or a jab but... it's cool. it's alright. It's merida. Not some man eating monster ~~but that's totally merida anyway lbh~~]

[He slowly moves his hand up over hers, holding it loosely. His heart feels like it's going to beat out of his chest.] That might be a bit hard, but I'll try.

[There's a nervous chuckle as he tries to do just that, and relax, but his red face says otherwise.] Okay.

[He'll just. Wait. And mmmmmmaybe lean in a little?]

[She just-- giggles softly. And runs her thumb over his cheek, before winding her other hand behind him, weaving fingers through the hairs on the back of his neck.

One more breath before she lets her eyes close and presses her lips against his gently. No pushing or shoving this time, just a soft, affectionate kiss. Just like a first kiss should be.]

[The kiss makes him warm up a little bit more, to the point where it's almost uncomfortable. But he knows once he gets used to this, it'll die down. He hopes his lips won't be too cold for her when he gently presses his lips against hers in return.

A hand moves don to rest on her hip, pulling her just a bit closer. He... likes this. It feels nice when it's not forced or surprised.]

[She keeps it light, right now. She knows her warmth may overwhelm him, especially considering they were both bright red earlier. She doesn't want to push him into anything too fast or hard.

Instead she'll just continue to run her thumb across his cheek, pull her other hand through his hair a bit. She's letting him decide the pace for now. No need to scare him off.]

[Jack leans a little bit more into the kiss, but not too much in case she's not comfortable with it. He decides it's best to just go slow right now, and save anything else for later, or another time.

He gives the hand over his cheek a gentle squeeze, and he can't help but smile into the kiss. His opinion of kissing Merida has changed or the better.]

[She smiles a bit into the kiss, feeling that hand squeeze her own. It's just the bit of encouragement she needed. She presses in, giving him a more firm kiss, letting it linger against his lips and then pulls away. Time to check up on him.]

So-- [She puffs a little, more out of breath then she thought--] -- better than th'first?

[Her heart's in her throat, pounding away, and her cheeks are red and rosey-- but she's smiling big and wide.]

[He's a tinge sad when Merida breaks the kiss, and he knows his emotions are going to be a mess to sort out after this. He's a bit out of breath, too, and he can feel himself still warm.] Yeah. A lot better.

[He can't think of anything else to say after that, but he'd rather not be in silence. So, he'll just say the first thing that pops into his head.] Thanks.

[She wants to kiss him again, that's a fact. She liked his cold lips and that gentle hand. But she knows this may be a one time thing-- and she doesn't want to get her hopes up or push him into something he doesn't want.]

You're welcome. [Hand moves to push the hair out of his eyes. She's not sure whether she should say something cocky and disarming or something a bit more serious, so she attempts for the middle] If you're ever in need of more of my kissin' expertise, just cover m'mum's tapestry room in snow.

[....But now she kind of wants to see that anyway]

[The gentle touch of her hands give him goosebumps, and he reaches out to hold one of her hands in his own. Something about all of this just feels right.] I'll remember that. Might have to fly around a bit to find it, though.

[He'd ask for another kiss, but at the moment, calming down and getting the blush out of his face takes priority.]

Just look for th'room that seems extra stuffy and filled with tradition.

[She'll squeeze his fingers between her own. He could ask her to kiss him a thousand times and she'd probably oblige him.]

Watch out for mum though. She's gettin' suspicious, and she believes in magic.

[MEANING SHE MIGHT SEE YOU.]

Yeah, I can imagine that conversation going well. "Oh, yeah, I'm just here to kiss your daughter." [... but now he's conflicted.] Even then, I think I might be happy she can see me...

That'll just be my sign y'want t'kiss. I don't think I'd want t'kiss in there. [Her room was, truthfully, more private. And her parents actually left her alone a lot more as of late] And my mum is at least a hundred times more scary than my dad.

[A short pause as she thinks about it.]

Granted I think she'd like t'listen about all th'spirits you've met and how y'came t'be. She loves those types of stories.

[Told them to mer all the time when she was a child.]

Why do you have scary parents? Is it part of the whole princess gig or something? [He just doesn't want to be chased out by Scottish people with torches, okay.

Jack does, however, perk up a bit when she talks about her mom.] ... you really think she'd be interested in listening to me?

I think it's th'fact that they have t'run an entire kingdom. Y'can't be pushovers with that kind of power.

[ she just grins, wide. Then bumps her nose against his briefly.]

My mum's th'entire reason I believe in magic now. Taught me everythin' I know about spirits and th'like. I'm sure she'd enjoy your company. S'long as y'didn't anger her too much.

Still, they're both really... intimidating. Your mom looks like she could get a room full of crazy kids, and calm them down in five seconds flat.

[Wow, so much affection... he leans into her, giving her a quick peck on the nose. He can be affectionate, too!!!] I think I'd be a little too happy at the fact that an adult would enjoy talking to me to do anything to get her mad.

You need t'meet my brothers.

[Blushing at that nose kiss--]

Alright, it's settled. You get t'have a nice lunch with my mum. We can kiss afterwards.

[snickers.]

The triplets? Man, I'd love to start a snowball fight with those kids.

[He smiles at that, resting his forehead against hers.] That sounds like a nice plan. So long as your mom doesn't find out about the kissing part.
