Sorta? I mean, all of the Guardians were people before. After we all died, Manny brought us back as the Guardians. [You know. Like you do.]

[ Jack's eyes turn skyward as well, brightening as the comet, accompanied by dozens of tiny meterorites along with it, began streaking through the night sky. ]

I don't adopt strays, and since when are you a puppy, Frostbite? Besides, you're the one who dragged me out here. Being nice had nothing to do with it. [Bunny has an amused smile, though, and since Jack's apparently a stray now, he's getting an almost affectionate hair ruffle.] I get the feeling I couldn't get rid of you even if I tried, considering how long you've been the thorn in my side.

[Way to ask the hard questions.] Of course it is. But... [That's one of the most important "buts" of his life.] I'd rather have it be me than my little sister. Besides, I'm needed now, too. By kids all around the world.

[ Though he's obviously not a child, he makes a wish anyway. Wishes, he disagrees, are for anyone who has hope. Steve has a lot of it, bundled up in neat packages but overflowing, so he wishes for something as big as his heart and as strongly as he is strong. ]

[ He'll try not to ruin the effect by reminding her that he calculated where and when it'd be. And he also won't say that on a clear night with a good view of the sky, a shooting star passes by big enough for the naked eye to see about once every ten minutes, as long as you know where you're looking.

Steve knows everywhere he's looking tonight, and he'll count every wish they miss tonight, hopefully because they're too busy doing other things and there's no need to interject. ]

[She thinks on that for a while, knowing that if if was she and her brothers... well, she would have done the same thing. She rounds to the front of Jack, doing her best to look him in the eyes.]

[He hesitates on answering, instead taking a deep breath. Gotta prepare himself for this. He hadn't talked about, or even remembered her, for the longest time.] She was... really out-going. She loved to be outside, running around, playing with friends. [There's a soft chuckle.] She really loved my tricks, too. Every minute she could, she wanted to spend with me. That's why she was... [Ho boy.] why she was so excited about going ice skating.

You loved her a lot. [It's not a question. It wasn't hard to tell.] I'm sure she's still out there, watchin' you and believin' in you.

[He gives a small smile before pulling his hood to cover his face a little. Sorry, he just needs a moment.] ... thanks, Merida. She... probably believed in me the most. [Even on the lake, while she was scared, she held onto her belief in him.]
